India is not only a rising power — it is a civilisational idea whose wisdom systems, cultural frameworks, and societal models offer meaningful answers to today’s global challenges. But for these insights to shape the future, they must be studied, applied, and made accessible to the next generation of thinkers, educators, and changemakers. This is the purpose of The Hind Fund.

The Hind Fund was created as a private philanthropic initiative under the Hind Culture Lab, with a single, focused mandate: to support the growth of Applied India Studies and enable access to India’s soft power for a new generation of learners, institutions, and communities.

A Funding Model Rooted in Purpose

At its core, The Hind Fund exists to ensure that the intellectual, cultural, and civilisational resources of India are not locked in archives or academic silos—but activated for public good. We support programs that connect classical knowledge systems with contemporary challenges, research that emerges from the field, and fellowships that bring young minds face-to-face with India’s lived diversity.

Our model is anchored in long-term investment. We don’t just fund events or conferences—we seed institutions, ideas, and networks. Whether it is a new regional immersion module, a cross-cultural field project, or a multi-institutional research initiative, The Hind Fund is committed to enabling sustained, meaningful, and measurable change.

Strengthening an Ecosystem

The Hind Fund works in close alignment with two core sister institutions: The Hind School, India’s first academic institution for Applied India Studies, and The Hind Think Tank, a research and cultural lab that drives public thought rooted in India’s knowledge traditions.

Together, this ecosystem forms an integrated pipeline—from fellowship to research, from education to execution, from tradition to transformation. The Hind Fund acts as the financial and strategic engine of this ecosystem, identifying high-potential ideas and partners, and powering their long-term growth.

What We Support

Our current priorities are threefold. First, we invest in fellowships and field programs that empower young Indians and global scholars to study India through immersive, place-based learning. These include initiatives like the Hind Fellow, Hind Explorer, and Hind Scholar programs.

Second, we support regional and thematic research initiatives that uncover India’s untold stories—from oral histories in the Northeast to archival research on Indic education systems. These projects not only preserve India’s cultural wealth, but reinterpret it for today’s context.

Third, we work with institutional partners—universities, foundations, CSR networks, and community organisations—to build scalable models for India-centric learning. Our co-investment model allows us to match funding with aligned institutions and donors, amplifying collective impact.

A Vision to 2030

By 2030, The Hind Fund aims to directly support over 5,000 emerging leaders, fund regional learning hubs across India, and enable India Studies programs in 10+ global universities. These numbers are not just goals—they are commitments to a future where India’s knowledge systems are seen as active frameworks, not passive heritage.

Join the Mission

The Hind Fund is not a charity—it is a catalyst. We invite individual donors, institutions, and corporate partners who believe in the power of India’s ideas to co-invest in this mission. Whether you want to support a fellow, endow a module, or partner in research, there are multiple pathways to contribute meaningfully.

Together, let us reimagine what it means to invest in India’s future—not just in infrastructure or capital, but in knowledge, culture, and civilisational confidence.
